The classic FREE JAZZ - A COLLECTIVE IMPROVISATION BY THE ORNETTE COLEMAN DOUBLE QUARTET is an absolute milestone in free jazz. The collective musicians alone make for a classic "super group" of free jazz innovators; Eric Dolphy, Don Cherry, Freddie Hubbard, Scott LaFaro, Charlie Haden, Billy Higgins, and Ed Blackwell. This is Atlantic #1360. It is a white label (sorry for the yello photo) promo with a Sample copy - not for sale printed on the label. The MONO LP looks unplayed - beautiful shine, no spindle marks, with a hint of sleeve wear. The jacket is the early pressing with the die-cut opening showing a sample of the Jackson Pollack painting inside the gatefold. Jacket is NM. The is a stamp on the back that is partially smeared, but you can read "Not for Sale". It is Absolutely beautiful!!! I have never seen a PROMO of this LP before and I've never seen a copy this clean and I doubt I will ever see another.
