Description
Original 1957 release of Brunswick 54038 textured cover LP The "Chirping" Crickets. Has the liner notes which wrongly indicated Buddy Holly and Joe Maudlin as hailing from Bullock, Texas not Lubbock.
Although I have "collected" vinyl (if enjoying music and keeping every record purchased over the last 50 years while always adding to them is rightfully called collecting) I have never sold and therefore never delved into the grading process. Assigning a specific grade is daunting so I have included lots of pictures and they are intended as part of the description. They were taken in natural outside lighting.
Vinyl; just played on a vintage Fisher direct drive turntable. Strong VG+. Possible VG++:
*Plays perfectly with no skips. There is some very minor surface noise between a few tracks. I noted a couple light pops during Not Fade Away *There is visible surface wear...scuffing and a few small scratches (which can be seen but not felt) and do not affect the sound quality. *Vinyl is still shiny but not bright. *Label has no issues. *Please review pictures...I have included shots of both sides

*Upper right hand edge is spliting at seam (separated about an inch) *Midway down cover opening creased from removing album *1" tear 4" down from top on left back side (album opening) *Ring wear at top front and back *Back cover is scuffed and lightly stained *Corners are worn *Lightly (faded) fountain penned name upper left corner of back cover *Please review all pics as I have included pictures of all issues
Played one last time while writing this and it sounds great...I will miss it and hope it finds a good home.

Vinyl Grades Used (from record grading online source) to determine grading this album:
VG++ Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a hairline scratch or two but nothing that is obvious or affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny; label is clean and unmarked.
VG+ Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or initials, etc) but otherwise clean.
VG Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.
Album Cover Grades used to determine grading: VG++ Minor disc impression or slight corner creases, no wrinkles, puckers, seam splits or writing on the cover. Artwork is clean and unworn and there is no inkwear.
VG+ Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and may show slight wear. There may be just the start of ring wear. There may be slight discoloration for staining, minor seamm wear but no splits or tears. Corners may have small creases or fraying.
VG Covers are worn and used. Seams my be starting to split or may have beenn unobtrusively repaired with clear tape. There is moderate ringwear but artwork still attractive. There may be yellowing or discoloration and there may be larger writing, labels or marks. Corners may have damage or creases and there may be scratches or gouges that otherwise damage artwork.
