IMPERIAL: LP-9024 "SONNY CRISS PLAYS COLE PORTER"  SONNY CRISS 

  Original Pressing SONNY CRISS LP  on the IMPERIAL Label

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, silver on maroon, "LONG PLAYING MICROGROOVE" label, IMPERIAL Records, 1956 release of "SONNY CRISS PLAYS COLE PORTER" LP-9024, by SONNY CRISS, complete with DEEP GROOVE.  The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  The album features SONNY CRISS - alto; SONNY CLARK -  piano; LARRY BUNKER - vibes; BUDDY WOODSON - bass; and LAWRENCE MARABLE - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it VG+ based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks nice.  There is light wear with two visible scuffs which I cannot feel with light touch.  Minimal spindle marks.  The original jacket face has some light wear, maintaining most of its original gloss, with no writing, marks, or dings.  Light wear to the edges but they look strong with NO seam splits.  Light wear to corners with small ding on lower right.  Back cover shows mild surface wear and light ring-wear, otherwise in good shape with no writing, labels, or marks.  Record ships with non-original inner sleeve (it might be original but I'm not completely sure).  No reserve!
