General Description of this RARE Beatles UK EXPORT LP
A RARE opportunity has arisen to purchase one of the Hardest to find Beatles UK EXPORT LPs, 'Abbey Road'. This RARE VARIANT, released by Parlophone UK in 1969, for EXPORT purposes only, is on the Custom BLACK AND SILVER ONE EMI BOX PARLOPHONE Label, with the 'Gramophone Co Ltd' label rim, with 'Mfd. In UK' and 'Made in Gt. Britain' label text, together with the all Important UK Export catalogue number of **PPCS 7088** printed on both sides of the record labels. An additional feature of the record labels is the indented ridge close to the perimeter edge, normally associated with a contract Pressing. The Track listing for this OBSCURE Export LP is the same as for the standard UK release. The side 2 track listing omits reference to 'Her Majesty. This RARE Export Variant comes in a plain white 'Made in Gt. Britain' record bag, and is protected in an Original Fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse 'Abbey Road' sleeve...
Official Dead Wax matrix and stampers:
Side 1 matrix: YEX 749-2/Side 2: YEX 750-1.
Side 1 stampers: '6'/Side 2: '8'.
The catalogue number PPCS-7088 is stamped in the trail out groove on both sides of the record.
Grading Assessment:
Both sides of the record labels are in **near mint** condition – A SUPER CLEAN set of record labels, Bright, Clean, Unfaded and Undamaged, with NO handwriting, and only a few extremely faint and short centre spindle hole lines visible to either side. Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are also in **near mint** condition - the Vinyl retains a Deep Gloss Shine, shows only a couple of light inaudible wispy lines on side 2. The Original fully laminated sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition. The spine, corners and edges of the sleeve are all in great shape. There is NO handwriting, NO tearing or other major deterioration to the sleeve, showing a little mild record indentation to both sides and a couple of light manufacturing process laminate pinches.
Playing Quality:
The album plays very well with a Strong, Smooth STEREO sound. There are NO skips, NO jumps or Sticking. Occasional and extremely light background crackle can be heard between a couple of the tracks. The album sits 100% flat on the turntable displaying NO dishing or warping.
One of the HARDEST TO FIND of all the official BEATLES UK EXPORT albums, and a Seriously IMPRESSIVE Example - It would be extremely difficult to find a better one!
