ORQUESTA SABOR
YOU'RE LOOKIN' FINE / CHISMOSO

Seldom offered for sale and practically unknown latin gem on a tiny private label out of late '60s New York. Absolutely nothing to do with the contemporary salsa group of the same name. Features the boogaloo latin soul of "You're Lookin' Fine" with deep bassline / flute solos and infectious rhythms. We also dig the call and response style interplay between the lead vocalist and individual band members :) SideB is called "Chismoso" and is a fabulous Son Montuno with lots more vocals / piano / flute and strings. Utempo and very hypnotic when the funky percussion locks in. A superb double-sider and one of the more obscure examples of the Nuyorican / El Barrio / Spanish Harlem sound. This item is from the same mini stash of latin singles as Javier Vazquez Y Su Salsa "Quiero Beber" on Alegre label and Charlie Palmieri & His Duboney Orchestra "El Tubo" on Big label, so should be interesting for latin collectors ;) Great for DJs! Disc cut loud with big production sound
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - shiny, strong VG++ regardless of some faint hairlines and a couple of mini light scuffs from storage / faded old pressing residue and a few faint blemish marks / disc cut loud with big production sound / background surface noises (most probably due to the actual pressing, heat exposure or general deterioration due to its time in storage)
SLEEVE - not graded - original generic factory sleeve has general wear / item from the archive of an important record label who had offices in Milan, hence the archive stickers and pen notation, front and back
LABEL - some natural age discoloration / some faint old dirt marks from storage
After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
