Northern Soul - The Whispers - The Dip/Weirdo - Dorè.


Great Hollywood group soul sound from The Whispers on Lou Beddell & Herb Newman’s Doré label which was a sister label to Era Records. Supposedly while the group were driving to work the car would hit a dip in the road and the driver would speed up before hitting it to the annoyance of those in the back. The dip in the road is therefore what gave rise to the song. Regardless, it’s a great track.
