NORTHERN SOUL RARITY on Planetary 105 “Standin’ On The Corner”/“Shindig City” by Dorothy Berry - 1965
Great Northern Soul/Funk/Rocker rarity on the Planetary label, distributed by Dot Records, from March of 1965 by Los Angeles soul standout Dorothy Berry written by David Gates.
THIS COPY: is the standard styrene stock copy and conservatively grades in very good plus (VG+) condition. There is no significant ring wear, ink, stickers, or label tears. I detect a slight hint of a small storage warp but it is not significant. As styrene pressings go, the sound is excellent.
PROVENANCE: This copy was in the 60-year collection of a Massachusetts disc jockey and collector whose focus was on 1950s and early '60s R&B and vocal groups. It had been stored in his library for more than 35 years.
