Description
This is one of the hardest items I've ever had to grade and/or price, so I'll try to do my best and give an accurate description. This item is the debut album by Buddy Holly and the Crickets, entitled The Chirping Crickets. The record contains the following tracks: Oh Boy, Not Fade Away, You've Got Love, Maybe Baby, It's Too Late, Tell Me How, That'll Be the Day, I'm Lookin' For Someone To Love, An Empty Cup, Send Me Some Lovin', Last Kiss, and Rock Me Baby. The record sleeve has some VERY light shelf wear, and the top and bottom seams and starting to split JUST the first half-inch from the open edge. At the center of the top back is written in pencil "as is $1.19." Otherwise there are no tears, creases, seam splits, peel marks, writing, or any other damage. The record has some very obvious surface scratching and scuffing visually. However - NONE of this caused ANY skipping at all, and VERY little, if any noticeable surface noise on my turntable, tracking at well under 2 grams. Based on listening alone, I'd very conservatively called this at least a 7 on a scale of 10, and probably closer to an 8. While the visual condition on this record may not make it a prime example of a collector's copy, for listening purposes I wouldn't hesitate to have this in my own collection. On Nov-01-14 at 07:52:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question concerning the type of paper used for the cover slick, to which I offered this response: I would say its definitely textured, you can absolutely see sort of a grid
pattern in the paper if you hold it under alight just the right way. I'll see if I can get and add a picture of this to the listing.
