Description

This is the extremely rare original Neil Ardley Ian Carr Don Rendell - Greek Variations and Other Aegean Exercises. Released on the EMI Columbia black label Lansdowne Series, Catalogue No. SCX 6414, this sought after album represents the pinnacle of the English Jazz Scene of the late 1960s/early 1970s. 
This is an ex-library copy and has a library barcode sticker affixed to the S1 label across the Columbia logo, plus a barcode to the top rear plus a library classification sticker to the front top LH corner ( see photos).
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl has come up with excellent gloss, but has a small warp which is barely visible except during playback. This creates a "whooshing" noise/distortion for the first 1.5 minutes on each side. After that it subsides to reveal beautifully clear and vibrant " in the room" sound quality. There is a small scuff on S2 but nothing that troubles play. Graded VG+.
The flipback laminate sleeve is solid with some creasing but no laminate lift or peel. Wear to the bottom seam is visible with a small split to the opening end plus corner rubbing. There is a number written on the rear RH bottom corner plus GREEK has been underlined in ink. Some spine wear but still legible ( see photos).
The original shaped paper inner is included, however we have decanted the record into a new poly lined inner to keep it pristine after cleaning.
The record will be sent separated out in a clear archival sleeve to prevent transit splits.
