7" ON WAND RECORDS OUT OF NEW YORK
WND11202
CLASSIC NORTHERN SOUL
Betty Moorer is the sister of Esquires Gilbert and Alvis Moorer, and she sang with them prior to their cutting "Get on Up."
This 1969 Wand Record release was actually the B-side of Betty's answer to the Isley Brothers' "It's Your Thing," entitled "It's My Thing."
A flip side by designation only, "Speed Up," written by Gilbert and Bill "Bunky" Sheppard, was stronger.
The Esquires accompany Betty's power vocal with Gilbert's soaring falsetto ringing clear as a bell on a contagious, slow-shoop, harmonic creamette that makes you want to sing along.
