STORY:
I purchased this from the son of the original owner who purchased it new in the 1950s. He had a ton of unplayed records and this was one of them. He usually recorded his LPs on cassette and never touched them after that. The labels are pasted on over a mysterious black label beneath each side. I can tell there are deep grooves beneath the labels visually and by feeling the surface. I'm thinking either there was an issue that caused a missing matrix number on 1 side, the wrong labels were placed on it only to paste over the correct label by the plant, or (very unlikely) it's a sort of blank black label test pressing. I have 2 1962 Pacific Jazz test pressings that are blank black labels (PJ-27 and PJ-33). The 1956 UK test pressing coincidentally has a blank black label as well. I peeled away a little to the side on 1 label and the top labels is pasted on really good so i can't see much of anything (see pictures). The way the digits on Side B are stamped on are exactly like my other 1955 copy, and the star is identical which leads me to believe it is 100% authentic. On top of that the quality of the audio is absolutely incredible. There do not exist any unofficial pressing of this release or Pacific Jazz records whatsoever upon doing research.
This comes with a somewhat tight plastic bag that was found with the album, not sure if it is the original bag shrink, you can decide. The plastic binding is what has a thick seam while the sides have no seams. Also the bag along the binding in 1 corner has some extra plastic which is possibly how the bag was sealed, if it ever was.

Record: Near Mint-
Plays near perfect! Quiet as a mouse with no background noise, an occasional faint stray pop but hardly any at all. No recurring ticks or pops
Jacket: Near Mint-
The jacket is unreal. The color looks brand new everywhere, incredibly strong edges with no splits, no writing, mild corner wear
