Description
Here we have an original pressing of the incredibly rare Moonkyte, Count Me Out. Released on Mother records in 1971. Cat no SMOT1. Stampers SMOT -1A-1/1B-1.
Vinyl is in excellent condition, visually to the naked eye it is close to mint. Examined under a halogen spotlight, the vinyl has very fine paper lines, which does not impede or diminish the superb playback. A really clean, bright and shiny copy. Looks like its only ever been played a couple of times. No clicks or hisses a really superb copy.
Sleeve is VG+, bright and clean with only very very light ringwear . The die cut church is still fully intact with very small unnoticeable tear at bottom of the church. Spine is clean and strong and clearly legible. There is a small sticker removal mark in top right corner about 2cm across (see pictures)
Label is clean and unmarked.
Inner sleeve is amazing, again in excellent condition with no tears or splitting. Really smooth and clean.
Yorkshire's Moonkyte only made one album, and -- though it was supported by John Peel, who wrote the effusive sleevenotes -- it sank without a trace when it appeared on the tiny Mother label in 1971.

Yet whilst serious amounts of dope and acid plainly went into its creation, the songs are crisp, concise, melodic and accessible. Most are good; my favourites are the catchy 'It's The Same Thing', sitar-driven 'Way Out Hermit' (sample lyric: Won't you give me God's address / If love is heaven sent?') pretty 'Lost Weekend' and wasted 'Jelly Man'.
