Description
This highly unique version of Young Team carries a short story. I worked at a music distributor in America that sold Jetset Records during the '90s and I won a promotional sales contest for this record. As a thank you / prize from the label, I was given a one of a kind version of this double LP with "artwork" drawn by the band. While it isn't their autograph, this is still pretty cool, right? I panicked at first as there wasn't a way to prove that Mogwai was the one who drew the funny doodles BUT then tucked in the LP jacket I discovered a note from the label retail rep Daniel that says this:
"_____ (my name) Thanks for everything. Mogwai decorated the vinyl themselves as if this was not obvious. Take Care, Daniel" What's great about this note is A) it proves that it is in fact art by the band BUT that Daniel is the one and only Daniel Kessler from Interpol (guitarist) who worked at Jetset at the time. So not only do you have Mogwai vinyl rarity but a little note written and signed by Daniel. I should add that the note was written on the back of a Jetset Records kitsch airplane ticket looking over sized business card that has Daniel's full name and position on the back for further proof that it is in fact him.
The records have never been played and are in mint condition. The jacket is a cheap white promo sleeve so it was pretty scruffy to begin with and the magic marker art is a little smudgy but that is how I was given the record.
I hate to sell something this personal and truly special but tough financial times have made it a necessity.
THIS IS TRULY A ONE OF A KIND RECORD.
