Description

WHITE TRASH Road To Nowhere APPLE 6 CUSTOM LABEL Beatles

White Trash, Road To Nowhere b/w Illusions.

Scarce 1969 UK Apple Records 7" with Apple custom labels housed in company sleeve.

This is not an acetate but a white label vinyl single with additional Apple custom labels. Matrix numbers are: APPLE 6A-1 and APPLE 6B-1. Each side also has the very earliest G 1 mother/stamper and KT tax indicators. These are all stamped and not etched.

Only the very earliest of these releases featured the band named as White Trash, and the matrix/mother/stamper markings indicate this is one of the very first issues off the press.

Vinyl is visually VG. Still has a good gloss but close inspection reveals a number of light scuffs and some very gentle hairline scratches. None of these are deep or feelable.

Playback is actually very clean and for the most part is nearer a VG plus. Some minor run-in crackle, a couple of soft consecutive ticks and a moment of background crackle during a quieter section towards the centre of "Illusions." Otherwise plays cleanly and without background crackle or ticks. Still provides a very solid and pleasurable listening experience with background noise never being particularly distracting.

The condition of the labels is fairly self-evident from the photos. Red penned "Pete" to the A side. Some darkening from glue discolouration with possibly a spot of storage rubbing contributing. Since the 7" came into my possession both labels have dislodged. The glue had naturally dried out with age and it's pretty lucky that they both lasted the course and stayed together. The drying out is natural and there is no tearing of the labels. The labels have been kept stored flat and will be sent to retain this condition. I've taken a photo with the A side label loose to show the disc underneath. The B side is similar in appearance but with a visible KJT stamp embossed to centre.

Apple sleeve is clean and unsplit, but with light overall creasing.
