TITLE: Crack Steppin’
LABEL: Get Down
GRADE (COVER/VINYL): Cover is in VG- condition due to the top and bottom seams being split and ring wear. The vinyl however is in VG+ condition and plays great with some light noise on the first track of each side and during the quietest moments of the ballads, nothing distracting. Check sound clips.

DESCRIPTION: Here we have it, a Holy Grail of the modern soul scene, Ron Milner’s “Crack Steppin’: A Comic Book Operetta in Rhythm and Blues”. From the cover alone you can tell that this album was pressed in miniscule numbers. Fortunately, the music is as good as it is obscure. The album itself is a solid mix of ballads and up-tempo modern soul numbers. The album has become famous in modern soul circles for the track, “What We Gonna Do with this Feeling” though the title track “Crack Steppin’” is to me just as solid. Huge, huge album produced by Bary Hankerson. Sound clips should be along within the next couple of days!
