Miles Davis "Round About Midnight" from 1957 on the Columbia Records Label.

The cover is in VERY GOOD + condition.  Has the ORIGINAL Columbia paper inner sleeve.

It is on the Columbia Records Label CL-949.

Given that Round About Midnight was Miles Davis' debut Columbia recording, it was both a beginning and an ending. Certainly the beginning of his recording career with the label that issued most if not all of his important recordings; and the recording debut of an exciting new band that had within its ranks Philly Joe Jones, Paul Chambers, pianist Red Garland, and an all but unknown tenor player named John Coltrane.

The title track was chosen because of its unique rendition with a muted trumpet, debuted at the Newport Jazz Festival the summer before to a thunderous reception. The date was also an ending of sorts because by the time of the album's release, Davis had already broken up the band, which re-formed with Cannonball Adderley a year later as a sextet, but it was a tense year.

 Round About Midnight is among the most essential of Davis' Columbia recordings.

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD + condition.

The labels are the ORIGINAL RED with Columbia SIX EYE and are in excellent condition.

Packaging

LP's are removed from the cover and shipped outside of jacket in a inner paper sleeve. The cover and record are then placed in the plastic record protector. Finally, they are packed in the cardboard record mailer supported by cardboard stiffeners. The record is then packed well as for it not to move around during shipping!

Shipping and Insurance

I do not profit from shipping and handling.

US Customers: Shipping cost is as follows: $4.00 Media Mail (2-9 days) or $8.00 Priority Mail (3-5 days).

US customers please be aware that Media Mail can take up to 12 business days to arrive (and on rare occasions even longer). In most cases it will arrive at your door within 5-6 days. I ship all items within 2 business days of receiving your payment. If you would like to receive your item more quickly, I recommend you select Priority Mail as your shipping option.

International Customers: Shipping methods are First Class or Priority International. First Class cannot be tracked.
