This is a UK original Test Pressing Double LP. There is no sleeve. Test Pressings do not normally come with a sleeve. Obviously, they were pressed purely to check the quality of the pressing before being issued. Therefore, these are pressed in extremely limited quantities. They are also, technically, the very 1st pressing of any LP. They are extremely rare too.

This Test Pressing Double LP is pressed on thick vinyl. LP 1 has plain white labels which have a small sticker on Side 1's label. This has the catalogue number written neatly on it. There is also a handwritten "Miles Davis Collector's Items" in blue pen on Side 1's label. Side 2;s labels is completely blank. LP 2 has generic "RCA" Test Pressing labels. "Prestige Records" were distributed by RCA Records in the UK in the 1970's. There is a small sticker with the catalogue number "PR 24022" written on it on Side 1. There is no other writing on LP 2's labels. Obviously the labels were designed to incorporate handwritten details on them.

This double album was originally issued in the UK in 1973. This Test Pressing was pressed in 1973 too. This LP has 1st press PR 24022 A-1E/ PR 24022 B-1E/ PR 24022 C-1E/ PR 24022 D-1E matrix stampers. Both LP's comes with a period company polythene-lined generic inner sleeve.

Vinyl 1: There are a couple of very small pin-head sized surface marks on Side 1. There is a mild surface pressing mark in that area too. Otherwise, there are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good++ condition. The labels, as mentioned, have a small catalogue sticker on Side 1, and have handwritten album details on one side. Otherwise, they show next to no spindle wear. They are in Excellent+ overall condition. The period company inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are about 4 or 5 mild clicks about a third of the way through Side 2. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.

Vinyl 2: There is a light 3.5 cm hairline surface mark on Side 4. There's a very light 5 cm hairline surface mark on 4. and a light 1.5 cm hairline surface mark on Side 4 too. There are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, on one side too. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels, as mentioned, have a small catalogue sticker on Side 3. There is no other writing on the labels. They show next to no spindle wear. They are in Near Mint overall condition. The period company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There is mild to more moderate fading. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall & Excellent in many places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
