Rare solo tracks by Memphis Jug Band members WILL SHADE and JAB JONES. Shade sings and plays guitar, and is accompanied by Jones on the piano. Recorded in Memphis, in 1928 on Victor 21725.

Condition is a very strong playing V (play graded acoustically on my Victor III) The last seconds of Side B has a needle drop (picture and audio supplied). Both sides have greying grooves and many surface scratches (pictured).

From the VJM Record Grading System. V+ i s an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced. V Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive. V- Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
