1970 UK PRESSED **PARLOPHONE EXPORT** LP

Even in 1970, there were some European territories selling Beatles & related product where the Apple Records trademark was still not registered. As a result EMI had to manufacture copies with regular contemporary Parlophone/EMI labels. Needless to say, these were produced in very small quantities and very few appear or even survive forty years later.

This ultra-rare UK manufactured EXPORT pressing of McCartney's 1st solo LP is on the '1-EMI-box' label: PPCS. 7102

Both labels include the 'Made in Gt Britain' statement & 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' worded rim texts.

Housed in a fully laminated gatefold cover with the 'EMI Record' text on the rear panel, but unfortunately no Parlophone gold sticker.

Complete with its original plain white 'Patent No...' inner-sleeve.

Labels: VERY GOOD

As you can see, both are clean & bright overall with some obvious wear and many spindle marks to each centre hole. There are also two light scratches on label 1 but no writing or other major blemishes.

Visual: GOOD -

Although very clean, bit playing surfaces display numerous surface marks and light scratches. However, only one is 'feelable' - this measures 2cms and is on track 7 of side 1. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.

Play: VERY GOOD -

This copy sounds much better than it looks and despite having been played many times, there is no groove/play wear distortion on any track or channel. The only major audible fault is a handful of clicks during the song 'Junk' caused by the aforementioned scratch. Besides that, there is some light background between tracks and the occasional light 'tick' but no further significant faults. There are definately no jumps, repeats or heavy clicks to spoil the listening experience. This copy has recieved very little play and there is no major deterioration to the sound quality throughout.

VERY GOOD

An overall clean & fully intact example with some general handling and storagewear but no major faults. The front & rear laminate display some light creasing and storage rubbing but all seams & the spine are all fully intact and undamaged.

Inner-sleeve

VERY GOOD +

Some light storage wrinkling but no writing, seams splits or tears.
