Description

Do you remember the scene in Nick Hornby's High Fidelity, where the narrator visits the house where a disgruntled wife is selling off her husbands rare record collection? OK, well these aren't Beatles rarities or anything but I still feel sad to part with this splendid collection of what was once roughly known as "alternative rock" (there's many records in here that don't fit that category at all -- like the soundtrack to "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"), but I'm just too distraught to break them all up into different categories. So, owing to my lack of real estate in my New York City apartment, and because of my wife's desire to 'declutter,' I have to say goodbye. Can you please provide these records with a good home? In general, the albums, purchased in the 1980s, have been contained in plastic sleeves, and are, for the most part, in excellent to near mint condition. There are a few, like records by The Undertones, that are a little more worn, but in general I've already chucked anything that wouldn't pass muster in your basic record store. I hope you can tell from the photographs that the records are in good shape. This is a big, hefty stack of vinyl, and I've judged it will cost me $50 to get it to you in the continental U.S. via UPS, so please add that to the cost. NYC buyers, pickup can be arranged. OK, here's the list, in full: REM, Chronic Town (1982 debut on IRS) New Order 1981-Factus 8-1982 (Everything's Gone Green, etc.) Sonic Youth, Sister (SST) The Embarassment LP (Time to Develop Records) Wire 154 (english import) Urgh!
