The Murphy Federation -- "Slipping Past on the Inside" b/w "The Fed Up Skank" 7"
Original 1981? UK private pressing issued by London Madras (UK) (catalog # LM 1/2, typewritten labels, "STRAWBERRY" printed in run-out grooves), in handmade Picture Sleeve, with a kind of gatefold cover that has two pieces of cut wallpaper that have artwork pasted on each side and are stapled at spine along with paper innersleeve. Sleeve credits "Slipping Past on the Inside" to a band called Les Enfants Du Paradis (a Monochrome Set song.) Labels say, "london madras is part of a massive conglomerate, the last soaks publishing company," and "produced by the london madras ladies for the lost sixers pub conspiracy".Extremely obscure DIY single from the UK 1980 or 81 -- minimal post-punk abstract dub-wave related to Street Level Studios and F*CK OFF RECORDS (have a track in FOLK IN HELL compilation cassette) also The Homosexuals (see below), Monochrome Set (see above) and various other experimental & avant-garde art-punk acts. This is obviously a very limited release.

The Murphy material has taken numerous guises over the years (Murphy No Geisha, Murphy Federation, Orchestre Murphy, Up Murphy Street, etc.) and to be honest, it wasn't until just recently that the work recorded under the Plain People Of England moniker finally clicked with me". -found on web
CONDITION: Sleeve VG+ / Vinyl VG+++ price sticker on sleeve, which has some normal wear but is overall in better condition than most copies of this cover which fall apart easily; vinyl is excellent, just barely shy of NM with a little wear, plays great. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / ]grade only used if record is brand new.
