'Live - The Road Goes Ever On'

WITH FOUR studio albums under their belt the band felt a stop gap live album was in order despite the fact that the previous album contained one side of live material. Captured in all their glory, the  band cartwheel through three numbers on side one including a brilliant rendition of 'Crossroader' which is virtually a tribute, ahem, to the mighty Cream. Side two is reserved for just one track a seventeen minute version of the collosal Mountain anthem 'Nantucket Sleighride' - arguably one of the era's greatest hard rock anthems (and the theme to 'Weekend World', the great seventies political TV programme).

Leslie West is on fire during these performances - his aching soloing sitting on top of some of the heaviest and powerful riffing of the early seventies.

Tough to score decent copies of this one as it didn't sell very well and the cover is very prone to wear and tear.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Superb clean and shiny condition O would say unplayed! No spindle marks on labels and no other signs of any use. Grades as a shop fresh MINT!

Cover: Absolutely no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated (by Gail Collins, wife of Felix Pappalardi) cover - retains original printers bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Impossible to find like this 46 years after release. Grades as top shop fresh MINT!
