Description
Hi, I am selling most of my Vinyl and CD's.
This the original 1977 Silver print sleeve Motorhead debut album. Chiswick records - WIK 2.
Matrix codes (etched): WIK-2 A-1 / WIK-2 B-1 It is often claimed that only 600 copies of the "silver" were printed; this is not true. 1000 were made, but the manufacturing process was only partially successful because of problems with the glue not adhering to the foiling - so over 400 were destroyed. It was estimated (I think by Chiswick Record's Ted Carroll) that there are only around 500 still in existence.
Oddly the original "silver" cover has less misprints on the back than the later "white" version. (ie, no "Lensy" or "Keepers" misprints but still has "Kilminster" and "Viborator" misprints).
Another silver print copy of this album sold on Discogs (09 March 2020) for over £1800.00.
Condition: Cover: VG+ (has some ring wear and creasing. The silvering is as you would expect after 43 years. See pics for a better idea of condition.) Vinyl: EX (looks great - microfiber surface scratches only visible in bright sunlight. Small amount of occasional static can be heard but this can probably be removed with a clean). Inner sleeve: EX+ (looks new)
Play tested by me, on a Rega Planar II turntable.
My grading system:
Like New / Mint / sealed = sealed or as new EX = Excellent condition - with only minor scuffs/wear on either cover or vinyl. Very little surface noise from vinyl VG = Very Good condition - with some scuffing/wear or sticker damage to covers. Marks and scratches on vinyl but only small number of scratches when played. G = Good condition - with more obvious scuffing/wear and sticker damage to covers. Marks and scratches on vinyl with more cracks, pops and scratches but still listenable to F = Fair condition - as G but with added small rips tears and splits in covers. Many marks and scratches on vinyl and surface noise distracting. P = Poor condition - cover badly torn / partly or wholly missing. Vinyl sounds like someone frying bacon, unlistenable.
International Buyers - I use the Ebay Global Shipping Programme. This means the postal time can be a bit longer but overall, it should be more reliable.
