NOTE:  This pristine album came from the extensive personal collection of the former owner of a chain of retail music stores who retired from the business in the early 80’s.  The albums were stored virtually untouched and unplayed since that time in a climate controlled, non-smoking environment.  We are in the process of selling many investment grade coloured vinyl LPs, promos, sealed LPs, and other rare collector items from the collection.  If you insist on MINT, archival quality albums, you will not be disappointed.

Vinyl:  Gem NEAR MINT unplayed – our highest grade.  You will not find a nicer copy anywhere on the planet. 

Jacket:  EXCELLENT.  Front panel is clean and bright.  The jacket slicks are on a very shiny grade of paper, which makes them extremely susceptible to shelf and surface wear – that said, it is remarkable that this example has only a few slight traces of ring wear just starting to appear at the top center and upper portion of the reverse.  Very slight, and not to a point where they detract to any significant degree.  This jacket displays beautifully, and I am certain better than most. There is a gold Promotional Stamp embossed at the top left corner area on the reverse. Seams and corners are excellent.  A very fine display piece. 

Includes the original factory printed inner sleeve, in excellent condition with the only flaw being a small (3”) split at the bottom seam center. 

NOTE:  PROMO albums are typically 1st pressings, often released prior to the stock copies, and are generally as close to the master tape as the listener can obtain. They are pressed in extremely limited quantities, with many ultimately trashed by radio stations, but when you can find them pristine and/or unplayed, their sonic qualities are unmatched.

Review: 

“Another first-rate Motörhead album -- the fifth in a row, to be precise – Iron Fist is the final one to feature the band's classic lineup, as guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke would depart following the album's completion.  Released in 1982, Iron Fist is mostly distinguished from its predecessors in terms of production, and not favorably.  Clarke produced this album himself, whereas industry veterans Jimmy Miller and Vic Maile had respectively manned 's past four albums.  Clarke's production is a bit sterile in comparison, with his guitar in the forefront, sounding slightly more polished than usual.  These are minor points, however. Iron Fist is a fine Motörhead album, and there's not much at all to complain about here.  As usual, the performance is ferocious and there several standout songs ("Iron Fist," "Heart of Stone," "Speedfreak," "[Don't Let 'Em] Grind You Down") amid a strong selection overall.  If Iron Fist falls a little short of its four-star predecessors, it's still in a class with those albums, at least relative to what would follow in the years to come.  Sadly, it was downhill from here for Motörhead, slowly but steadily.  Not until the '90s would they reach heights near this again.”
