ENNIO MORRICONE: DIMENSIONI SONORE 5 (RCA – ITALY 1972) LP ****** condition (record/cover): near mint (half-inch mark that does not affect playing) / near mint ****** sound dimensions was an amazing series of ten records of ‘music for images and imagination’ composed by ennio morricone and bruno nicolai (five volumes each) which was very nicely presented (neat ink paintings by gennaro sileo on the covers and notes by important directors like sergio leone, pierpaolo pasolini, gillo pontecorvo, elio petri, etc.) but unfortunately very rare as it is a library collection. the composers went wild on experimenting with timbres, structures and treatments and the whole series is a must-have for listeners into nuova consonanza, new music ensemble, new phonic art, gentle fire, aldo clementi, gyorgy ligeti, as well as the experimental library music by piero umiliani, fabio fabor, alessandro alessandroni, vittorio gelmetti, stefano torossi, lesimann, goblin, etc.. this is volume five and presents eight pieces with titles like attraction, interposition, proportions, action, etc., which however, as they state in the liner notes, do not have any significance. ****** unregistered priority mail is about 9 dollars to europe and 13 dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania where it is 17 dollars), while registered airmail is about 13 dollars to europe and 17 dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania where it is 22 dollars). winning multiple items can make you save on postage. preferred payment is paypal, although other options may be available.
