MOONDOG s/t PRIVATE LP rare deep spiritual avant Shipping Info | S/H info: Description NYC street musician who released several records in various formats featuring brilliant percussion work and exotic, homemade instrumentation. all his early, more organic recordings are amongst my highest rated of quote unquote "outsider" recordings. utterly foreign, spellbinding rhythmic patterns leave the listener with the impression that he's communicating with beings from another galaxy! see here for MP3 sound clips from this album. this is the original 1956 private issue of album that would later be repackaged on the prestige label. vinyl plays very strong with same pressing hiss that i've heard on EX copies.
fantastic collection this week of vintage strange, obscure & esoteric LPs, maybe the best list i've ever put together. i've spent the past year or so ferreting away doubles of my all-time favorite albums and have added in some curiosities from my own collection. these should appeal to everyone from the avant garde crowd to the psych heads and (obviously) all you exotica freaks. everything listed today comes very highly recommended. no hype here, people!
