Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. Leading SIXTIES Canadian GARAGE - BEAT ROCK

THE HOU-LOPS made several albums in the '60s,
including this obscure/scarce LP
The web has a great deal of information about Les Hou-Lops.  The only problem is that virtually all of it is in French and existing translation products turn the narratives into little more than verbal garbage.  Too bad since outside of their native Quebec Canada these guys are criminally overlooked.

Formed in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Les Hou-Lops started out in 1959 as an instrumental outfit built around Yvan Côté's Duane Eddy-inspired lead guitar.  Over the next four years the band underwent a string of personnel changes.  By 1963 the line-up had stabilized with Côté, bassist Jean Claude Bernard, former Blue Angels guitarist Jean Claude Domingue, drummer Claude Laviolette and singer Jean Rousseau,

Over the next six years to close out the '60s, The Hou-lops went from UK Invasion beat-rock to garage punk and heavier styles by '69

1965's "$1,000,000" was interesting beatrock album featuring one of their best known tracks which also happened to be a 45 release, titled OH No

Showcasing a mixture of pop-rock and early garage teen-scene rock the set was propelled by singer Gilles Rousseau's growling voice and some killer guitar from Domingue  (check out his performance on 'Blue Blue Feeling'), material like snotty garage punk flavored "Oh No" performance and a fuzz-powered 'Bony Moronie' proved these guys could rock out with the best of their American competitors. While their energetic performances breathed new life into thread worn rock staples like 'Rip It Up' and Chuck Berry's 'Nadine', the true highlights came in the form of  the isolated band originals.  Tracks like 'Oh No', 'Doin' the Jerk' and 'Big Black Jacket' were nothing short of great.  Too bad they weren't given the latitude to record more original material since this would have been a classic release !
