Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. (((MONO))) guaranteed 53  years ago:

Original 1967 MONO first pressing ...very very hard to find, especially clean (see the details below)...

The RARE MONO release contains all different song mixes from the stereo issue - as well as a deep bold vibrant punch in the (mono) production...
    ................................................................................

The FIRST album is nothing like the
THE  BEE  GEES that headed into the 70's 'fluff' sound achieving fame, this first Lp finds THE  BEE  GEES right in the middle of psychedelia, the band delivering famously...

    The
THE  BEE  GEES 1st album is like no other they ever delivered. Every song on the LP is drenched in layers of catchy pop-psych worthy of forever repeat plays without growing tired...

You get what you SEE with this one; its cover being dreamy psychedelic '67, and the music features a psychedelic-symphony-popsike infections with hints from The Beatles, especially in the vocals --remember, in the beginning that the Bee Gees had been tagged as clones of the Beatles. Inspired for sure, but not really at all aping the Fab Four.

Their music throughout the first album is very catchy with many memorable chorus and beautiful arrangements in the instruments and voices.
"Holiday", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody" and " I Can't See Nobody" are as many infectious masterpieces of pop perfection, popsike if you will.
" Turn of the Century" is a very strong opener with its lush popsike arrangement and so memorable, it easily could have been a hit too.

  • "Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You" reminds one of the atmospherics in " Strawberry Fields Forever". The Bee Gees were among the first ones to use the mellotron that we can hear in this piece. The Brothers Gees apply the Revolver pastiche " In My Own Time". "New York Mining Disaster 1941" is some of that jangly disastro-pop the Gibbs did so well: "I've Just Gotta Get A Message To You" being, perhaps, the pinnacle of the genre. "I Close My Eyes" is bouncy, proto-power pop with some sweet vocal workouts and a playful arrangement. "I Can't See Nobody", milkily sung by Robin is a melancholy triumph that would soon summon the interpretive talents of this band.

This album crafted with refined arrangements and beautiful harmonies in the voices is warmly recommended to every 60's collectors library, believe it or not.
