COLORED VINYL EXTRAVAGANZA
This twelve inch blue vinyl single was made in France and released in the UK in limited numbers in 1985 on the Music For Nations label. At that time the band had recently released their second album Ride The Lightning.The reason most METALLICA fans bought this record was to hear the tracks on the B side, a couple of favorites of the band: "Am I Evil" originally recorded by Diamond Head in 1982, and "Blitzkrieg" originally recorded by Blitzkrieg in 1981. These two gems were later included among the other covers on 1998's Garage Inc., but they appeared here first.
In 1986 METALLICA had the good furtune of being opening act on OZZY OSBOURNE 's Ultimate Sin tour (METALLICA's Master Of Puppets tour). They played at The Summit (later known as The Compaq Center, and now the future home of Lakewood Church!) in Houston on Friday May 9, 1986. METALLICA made an in-store appearance at a local record store where I had this item signed by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, and Cliff Burton. (I think it was Lars who drew a "dialog balloon" from the mouth of the skull to have him say "M.U.Y.F.A.", which is a reference to the band's original title for their debut album.)
It was less than five months from the time this record was signed that a tragic accident took the life of Cliff Burton on September 27, 1986 during their European tour.

You may occasionally find another copy of this single on colored vinyl, but it's not likely to be in such PRISTINE condition as this one is, or autographed by the original line-up of METALLICA (original as of their first album).
