Five Lots of 45 RPM Records (60's -70's) by Various Artists (Vinyl,Collectables)

We had a large number of vintage 45 RPM records. To assess their value we looked at the eBay “Sold” listings to see what each title had actually sold for over the last three months. We took into account the condition of the record and whether or not it was a promo copy (44 are promotional copies). There are mostly rock, country, R&B/soul, and pop. All records are in good to excellent. A detailed Excel spreadsheet will be provided if you are interested. We are selling them as an entire group.

We ended up dividing them into five categories.
1) Those that have sold recently for $20 or more (the average low sold for the 12 records in this lot was $20.10).
2) Those that have sold recently for $5 or more (the average low sold for the 36 records in this lot was $5.78).

We were unable to find completed sales in the last three months for a number of the records. So, as a surrogate, we
used the high and low asking and recorded these values. We understand that this will result in an inflated value so we threw out any high asking and used only the lowest asking price we found. For these records we formed two more lots:

3) Those with a recent lowest asking prices of $20 or more (the average low asking for the 6 records in this lot was $24.92).
4) Those with a recent lowest asking price of $5 or more (the average low of the 15 records in this lot was $6.08)

5) We ended up with a group of 18 records for which we could find no recent sales or asking prices. These may be rare
or they may be of utterly no interest – we don’t know. The last three pairs of photos show both sides of them and they are listed in the table below.

Any record we found that didn’t meet the $5 cutoff we gave away. We were left with 90 records in total.

Adding up the values of the five groups:
Lot 1, High value records sold: Total low sold is $ 241.14. This is what the low people actually got. People actually sold
them for a high of $355.83. We put a starting value of a little less than half of the average of $298.48 or $140
Lot 2, High value records asking: Total low asking is 149.49. We understand this number is inflated. We put a starting
value 40% or $60.
Lot 3, Low value records sold: Total low value actually sold is $208.25. They went for as high as a total of $336.07.
An average of that is $272.16. We put a starting value of $130.
Lot 4, Low value asking: Total low value is $89.28. We put a starting value of 40% or $36.
Lot 5, Unknown: We’re guessing at $2/ record (some could be gems) or about $40.

Total estimated value: $140 + 60 + 130 + 36 + 36 = $402

And we’ll throw in the record box they all come in.
