You are bidding on: Madden and Harris - Fools Paradise. Original 1974 Jasmine private pressing from Australia.
Ultra rare lp even in Australia. Fantastic, haunting folk with killer electric guitar leads and electric bass etc...Similar in the style to Mellow Candle, Trees, Spriguns.
Vinyl looks like it has been played maybe once or twice and is M- with no marks or groovewear or faults of any kind at all. Others would grade as Mint.
G/fold sleeve has a 3" light scratch on front cover and 2-3 tiny similar scratches, which are equally as hard to see (see scan). Otherwise it is perfect. No ringwear, no spine wear or seam wear, no creases (esp. no C-shaped creases from imbeciles trying to balance the cover on their thumb), no bent corners, no mildew/mould, no blotches of discolouration, no unwanted writting, no tears, no splits. This unlaminated sleeve is simply georgeous. It's difficult to believe that it avoided obvious damage or wear in 31 years! But here is proof. Grade as EX+ without doubt. Impossible to find better!!
No surprise that the last one with lots of mould/mildew stains on front (about VG grade) sold for approx. US$500.00, and the disc was EX only. Or how about a copy with a 9 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch coffee stain on front, selling for approx. US$700.00!
Also included here, are 2 pages of lyric inserts and info about the LP & the artists who play on it. They are in EX+ condition for sure due to it showing some very light signs of handling, and makes it complete, which is even more of a rare occurence.
Clean labels.
I guarantee you that a better copy will never be offered for sale, esp with no wear to the unlaminated sleeve, which is its Achilles Heel. My advice is that if you are a serious collector who understands what they are looking at here, then don't hesitate to place a bid. I think reserve prices on lp's often kill incentive to bid, so I will start with a min. bid that I think is sane/fair given the magnitude of how musicaly wonderful this lp is, the mindblowing artwork inside g/fold and on back & front and the rarity factor in this condition.
You will not be dissapointed with condition and my packaging/service (see my feedback), and you will save some money on what a European/Japanese dealer would charge for same item (frightening!). In fact, if a record dealer wins this, you will want to punch the wall, especially when you see it on his next list and you ask him "What sort of price do you have in mind when you say "BIDS"?"
I will not re-list this again, or sell for less.
