Description
Greetings vintage vinyl enthusiasts! I recently moved and rediscovered my record collection that I bought during the mid to late 1970's while growing up in Lompoc, California at the long defunct record store Cheap Thrills.
Here is the story behind this album. This is one of the band’s best and most successful albums and is the last Skynyrd album recorded by original members Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, and was the sole Skynyrd studio recording by guitarist Steve Gaines. Three days after the album was released a deadly plane crash occurred that took the lives of three of the band members (Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Gaines' older sister, backup singer Cassie Gaines), as well as the pilot, co-pilot, and the group's assistant road-manager. This is the original release of the album with the foreboding picture of flames in the background on the front of the cover, which was recalled shortly after the crash.

There is an etching in the runout area on both sides that cannot be identified...looks like "rf" (As a side note those initials I believe are KP for Ken Perry).
