Artist: Les Baxter

Title: Hell's Belles

Original motion picture soundtrack for 1969 biker exploitation film Hell's Belles, directed by Maury Dexter. When hot-headed Dan (Jeremy Slate) out-drives the thoroughly vicious Tony (Michael Walker) in a motorcycle race and wins a brand new bike, he sets in motion a chain of events that includes one blazing gas station and a disastrous rock slide. Also stars Adam Roarke, Jocelyn Lane, Angelique Pettyjohn, Astrid Warner, and William Lucking.

As for the soundtrack itself, the LP is spearheaded by Texas soundtrack king Les Baxter, whose work also appears in "Beach Blanket Bingo," "Voodoo Island," "The Dunwich Horror," and "The Ghost In The Invisible Bikini." Inspired by "exotica," the soundtrack is hard rocking but heavy on brass and harmonica to fit the vibe of riding a motorcycle through the deserts of Tucson, Arizona. It's rare to find a copy of this record in such good condition (note the scuff on the cover pictured above, and note that most of the perceived imperfections on the record itself are simply a reflection of the photographer's arm).
