Here’s a rare chance to own a seldom listed Northern Soul anthem “Your Love Make’s Me Lonely” by The Chandlers on the tiny Col Soul label out of Columbus, Ohio. An absolute floorpacker in the mid 70s at Wigan Casino allnighters and still guaranteed to fill dancefloors today, an essential 45 for DJs and collectors alike.
Rather than grade the vinyl I’ll describe it as accurately as I can: Firstly, I’ve just played it twice on a Technics SL1200 with a very light arm setting and it plays through without pops or skips. Crackles can be heard I’d say for about 50% of the song at various points but none of these are serious and the music comes through loud and clear throughout. Fortunately there is very little background noise during the quiet bit at the end of the record. Absolutely no problem to DJ with this record.
A previous owner has written his name in biro on the A Side “I Need Your Love” but the “Lonely” side is free from marks or damage and only shows slight discolouration (the scan has exaggerated this). This could probably be cleaned off nicely using a light solvent.
My preferred method of payment is PayPal but I’d be willing to consider other means. Airmail from Australia to UK & Europe is approximately A$8 or 3 quid, insurance or registered airmail will be extra. It will be very well packed and take around 5 working days to arrive.
