Description

The Song Remains The Same...Recorded in 1973 and this is the UK 1st Pressing from 1976. Matrix A/B/C/D hand etched - not machine stamped. All Stampers on each side showing 1,1,1,1. I believe this copy was manufactured just prior to full scale production as there are no numbers immediately after the letters that you usually find. The records come housed in an original gatefold cover including eight page booklet which states 'Printed in England' inside the back cover. The cover is textured and the images have been embossed on top. Also included are the black custom made inner sleeves with crescent opening cuts at the top. The labels show publishing credits below the catalogue number and the bands name below each side number. All of the above is consistent with a UK 1st pressing from the time of release. 100% complete and 100% original....
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Is remarkably well preserved and clearly has only seen very light use. Both records are shiny like new and I can only see a couple of ultra light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. There are one or two ultra light static crackles audible occasionally on side 3 & 4, but they really are very very minor. The records have a lovely lush presentation with bags of detail and a great wide open sound stage. Which makes this one heck of a rendition of Led Zeppelin at the height of their powers.
Cover (Ex) Again, someone clearly looked after this 40 year old cover very carefully indeed. The textured outside still has a nice fresh feel to it and handling wear is  pretty minimal. The booklet pages are immaculate - no rips and very little handling signs at all,even the spine is in excellent condition with all text perfectly readable. These early copies were built to last unlike the later reissues. It is a very nice solid feel to it and retains that rigid feel of a recently printed cover. Difficult to imagine finding one much better than this...
Inners (Ex) Only one one inch split - and that really is about it. They have a lovely newish feel to them. Great condition..
