Original pre-release Atlantic Records promotional issue of Led Zeppelin’s debut studio album released January 12, 1969. This promotional copy was produced for radio stations to promote the album several months before its official release date. 1st print cardboard cover with an original orange round “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker affixed to the front. Original Atlantic Records “Sample Copy Not For Sale” white labels with the “1851 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address and “SD 8216” catalog number next to the Atlantic fan logo. The 1st issue vinyl pressed at the Columbia Records, Terre Haute, IN plant has the following matrix numbers: Side 1 - o ST A681461-1A I CT T A; Side 2 - o ST A681462-1B I CT T A10. The album comes with the original “From The Atlantic Catalogue” inner sleeve showing the adverts for the other Atlantic releases.

The cover in Excellent condition is very clean and doesn't have any writing, splits or residue. There's only some very light shelf wear. The rigid spine contains a fully readable text. I grade the glossy vinyl conservatively as somewhere between Strong Very Good and Very Good Plus. It retains its beautiful factory gloss only having some very light surface marks and hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The clean white labels are graded Excellent Plus and only have a few very light spindle marks that can be seen only under a strong light source. The vinyl sounds great only having some light occasional static and a series of light ticks at the end of the second track on Side 2.  Perhaps they will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the static and ticks also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
