Up for auction is a very early factory sealed copy of Led Zeppelin’s debut album released by Atlantic Records on January 13, 1969. Based on the original record price sticker affixed to the shrink wrap at the top right corner this sealed copy was acquired at the Millers Mill Outlet store located in Brewer, Maine. Right next to the price, the sticker contains the date stamp “July”, indicating when the record appeared on the store’s shelf. It would be logical to assume that this copy was pressed sometime in between January and July of 1969. As probably you know, the later pressings of this album contain the five-digit catalog number. However, the currently listed copy has the 1st pressing “SD-8216” four-digit catalog number. We can’t be completely sure but it’s most likely inside this copy you’ll find the 1st orange-green Atlantic Records labels with the “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address along the bottom rim. Stunning copy which could have only been preserved in such a beautiful condition in a private collection with professional storage which we acquired it from, just like the other rarest commercial and promo releases of Led Zeppelin which you can also find listed at our current auction.

Aside from a few light age discoloration spots on the front cover, the album is in stunning Mint condition. All of the corners are sharp and the rigid spine doesn’t have any scuffs with the fully intact shrink wrap not having any splits, tears or missing pieces and containing the original breathe holes, one on the front and two on the back cover.
