Description

An original 1st press of Zep IV on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B4. Please note the labels are carrying the 'Misty Mountain Top' error [later correct to "Hop"]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured lyric inner sleeve [with flip-backs exposed per 1st issue]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks each side and a few superficial bag-rash type marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. It's a beautiful little player with, in reality, not to much to complain at at all. All I could detect was a momentary touch of light static in 'California'. And then a few crackles in the intro to that oh so popular track 'STAIRWAY'. But by and large a very assured and impressive rendition. Most certainly a keeper....
Cover (Vg+) Very nice looking original cover which has been cared for down the years. Both front and back are nice and clean without heavy creasing or wear - just a couple of tiny nicks. In the top left corner on the front there's the number '54' written in red biro - it's small and not noticeable. The interior looks great too - no deterioration noticeable at all. There's a bit of edge wear and it has worn through for two inchs in the middle at the top of the right panel. The spine looks fine with a modicum of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg-) Tape residue can be found along the edges - no splits on the sides. But the bottom edge is split and has been taped up. A small rip to the opening has been tape repaired internally.
