Description

An original 1st press of Zep III on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5 - the 1st cut. Please note there is an earlier label version with Peter Grant mentioned. This example, however, would have been available in the shops soon after release in October. We can tell it comes shortly after the Peter Grant copies as it holds the 'Celebration' error...and has omitted 'Day'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Deluxe cover printed in Germany. Not sure whether these were employed for export to the European market, or were imported to house the UK copies. Whilst they're not quite as smart as the very 1st issue E J Day covers they are still mighty impressive to look at. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original plastic bag warning inner sleeve date coded to summer 1970, just a couple of months before 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, this example really has been looked after carefully and is in top condition. Under close inspection I can't make out more than a couple of light marks per side.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. If you are someone who has to insist on just a flat out top-level copy..you need to seriously consider this one. Within the best couple of copies I've witnessed the audio is dreamy and executed to perfection. Whether that's the low-key parts or more complex passages..this copy excels and delivers clean assured audio from start to finish. I'm struggling to find fault at all...I'll do my usual catch-all..you may detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. To all intents and purposes..FINAL UPGRADE. Please note one of the labels has been signed.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and looking much better than many original examples that surface. It doesn't seem to have aged back and front which is a real bonus. No signs of the dreaded laminate creasing in the rear either! There's a small stain in the bottom right corner front and back - that's the only negative really. Please note that whilst you can still move the wheel round it's not real easy a I think it's come off of its central pin. The interior looks absolutely superb with just that mirror stain in the bottom right. Edge wear is light for this title and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing and no splits or markings.
