Led Zeppelin II Robert Ludwig "Hot Mix" RL both sides Presswell SD 8236
Record grade: G+
Sleeve grade: VG
This is a Presswell pressing of Led Zeppelin II with Ludwig's initials in the deadwax on both sides of the LP. This is a 10-day auction with a low opening bid and no reserve, so this could be a good chance to score this highly coveted LP for a nice price.
The record plays with light crackle with the music coming through loud and clear. The surface noise is most apparent between tracks and during quieter passages. The LP surfaces have lots of light marks and hairlines, but nothing horrible. I could hear some occasional light ticking during the quieter parts of "The Lemon Song" and during the quiet beginning of the "Thank You" track that ends the first side. This is mainly due to a slightly raised mark. On the second side, there's some light ticking audible during a quieter section of "Ramble On" and during the drum solo on "Moby Dick." Not super noticeable. The record does not lay dead-flat, but this has no bearing whatsoever on the playback, which sounds quite good. Please watch the attached video. There are no skips or jumps on this record.
The LP sleeve shows light wear on edges and corners. The cover slick was not wrapped super tight around the bottom right edge so there is some excess paper there. The top left corner has a bump and there's wear along the edges and corners of the seams and spine, but no splits. There's also some light discoloration visible on the white area of the front cover.
This is a LOUD album, so, despite the marks, it sounds really good and would likely blow any non-RL pressing out of the water.

I grade LPs based on a conservative interpretation of the Goldmine standard. This means that a VG+ record is in very nice shape and should have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. A record with sustained surface noise will be at best a VG. All records are play-graded since not all surface noise can be detected visually. All records are shipped in new Whiplash mailers with cardboard backing with the sleeved record outside of the jacket to prevent seam splits.

NM: Surfaces essentially look new. This is the highest rating I give used records.
VG+: Very nice shape. May have a few stray very light hairlines and/or light paper scuffs visible under bright light. Will have little to no surface noise barring an occasional moment here and there. No feelable marks.
VG: Has hairlines and/or paper scuffs and has audible surface noise particularly between songs and during quieter passages.
G+: Has more pronounced hairlines and paper scuffs and may have a few small feelable marks, but still no skips.
