Description

Led Zeppelin II 2 RL Robert Ludwig “Hot mix”. This is the PR (Presswell pressing) pressing which Side 2 has the standard characteristic narrow deadwax! 


US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "HOT" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to miss-track, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version. Playing the HOTMIX and Standard remix side by side, and same volume is an eye opener!


Labels include "PR" suffix (indicating a PRESWELL pressing) and "Mfg By Atlantic Recording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.". Matrices on Side A etched RL, and Side B has RL SS is present in the deadwax.

Some intro noise as with most albums of this age especially LZ2 RLs, with periodic clicks. Album does have hairlines which don’t effect play. Grading is per the GOLDMINE standards. Album has been cleaned via ULTRASONIC machine, and comes in Mofi inner sleeve and 4 mil outer. Priced to sell based on condition,
