Description
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II 1969 Specialty 1st Pressing. Original 1st cut by Bob Ludwig at Sterling Sound. It was soon replaced with a different cut as Atlantic Records were concerned that Ludwig's cut was too extreme for record players at the time. It was possible (yet unconfirmed) that the mastering would cause the record needle to start skipping, eventually leading customers to return their copies en masse. An estimated ~200,000 copies were pressed of Ludwig's cut before it was replaced. The RL Hot mix continues to be a coveted record amongst audiophiles, resellers, scalpers, and the "I know what I have" crowd alike.
Cover: Fair 1969 Atlantic SD 8236 1st Cover. Brown color Matte Sleeve. Spine and Seams are heavily worn with damage and seam splits, taping at the bottom seam indicating that it had fully split. Ringwear and pen indentations evident. Inner Gatefold looks good. Comes with Atlantic inner sleeve.
Record: G+ 1969 Specialty 1st Pressing. RL and SS in deadwax on both sides. Record is beat with lots of scratches and scuffs. Wear can be audible heard during quiet passages on the album. A mark on Side 2 is audible from the lead-in groove to the first verse of "Heartbreaker". That being said, it plays better than it looks. Filler copy.
