Delicate Sound of Thunder
On offer here is a stunning genuine first UK pressing of this classic live album. I have very rarely stumbled across an A1/B1/A1/B1 pressing and this is the one on offer here. In fact this matrix is not even registered on pinkfloydarchives.com so perhaps they were pressed in very limited numbers.

Side One is Mint-
Side Two is Mint- (the 'Sorrow' intro is VG+)
Side Three is Mint- ('One of These Days' is Ex+)
Side Four is Near Mint
The gatefold cover is Ex to Ex+

Visual grading
Under a strong bright light you can see a number of extremely fine hairlines but they have no affect on the wonderful audio as detailed below. They both retain a lovely glossy sheen and there is actually no spindle wear on either label, so if they have been played prior to my play testing I imagine it is only once or twice.
Play grading
'Shine On...' plays with near perfect sound apart from a few very light static sounds at the beginning. This is one of my favourite live albums of all time as the recording and production is just so good. Play this track loud with the lights off and it's like you're there! This is a stunning start to the LP, the deep bass and sonic quality on this classic track is incredible. 'Learning To Fly' quite simply plays as Mint and the same can be said for the remainder of the side also. Wow!
There are a few clicks on the 'Sorrow' intro but they soon disappear and the track then plays with sheer quality and no background noise at all. 'The Dogs of War' plays to the highest standard possible also and the intro to 'On The Turning Away' is just stunning. Just a handful of dust ticks at the start, the audio thereafter is just immense and the rest of the track equals it. This is the best live version of this classic that I have heard.
Again there is some light crackle at the start of 'One of These Days' and then plays with quiet intermittent static for the first half which is very much in the background. The second half has Mint quality audio. The remainder of the side plays to the same standard and rarely have I heard better. Absolutely stunning!
I'm pleased to say there is only a little static at the beginning of 'Wish You Were Here' on Side Four and this old time classic plays incredibly well. 'Comfortably Numb' does not disappoint and plays with stunning clarity and no interference apart from one dull click towards the end. This is a spine tingling rendition and the guitar solo comes through the speakers so powerfully!! 'Run Like Hell' has minor crackle at the start and then plays with fantastic sound, great bass levels again, and is a fitting end to this classic album.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold has minor shelf wear but is in overall excellent condition. The edges and wide spine are in superb shape but the corners do have some rubbing although not excessive. The top of the front and back cover have a little spotting but again it is not major and there are no other marks/writing anywhere. The inside of the gatefold is in supreme condition and looks as new.
Lyric inners
The cardboard lyric inners (with rounded corners as per the early pressings) are in lovely condition with no splits which is very rare. There is a small amount of print marking and one tiny 'nick' on the corner of the second inner and a little ringwear near the top edge on both but overall they are in great condition.
Labels
They have a few light 'spot' marks but are otherwise in excellent condition with no spindle wear.
