Quieres Por Favor (Won't You Please) b/w No Esta Mal (It's No Bad)
Original, 1st and only pressing released in 1966 on Odeon, Argentina. What we have here are two of Los Shakers earlier recordings, and remind us why they became famous, and is now a treasured find among Beatlesque collectors worldwide. These tracks were originally not included on any of their three albums, and released as a single only. However, it is fair to point out that they were re-recorded during a visit to North America in 1966, and then included in the Break It All album (edited in the U.S., on Audio Fidelity, 6155). Those improved versions are slightly different than the previous recordings. These are the original and alternative versions, which were actually not even included in their official comps, La Vigencia ... (1975) and Los Ineditos ... (1977). Rarely offered for sale on eBay, or wherever, during the past years. This is an essential piece of the Rioplatense scene, and will fill a black hole in anyone's collection.
The A-side opens with Won't You Please, and in my humble opinion, this is one of the best tracks of their first period, w/ amazing vocals, and inspired instrumentation, as one might expect of a group who counts The Beatles and the Merseybeat movement among their main influences. While the flip, entitled It's No Bad (comped on World Beaters Vol. 1), honors their subliminal garage-y inclination, w/ fuzzy guitar lines, and semi-punkish drum beats. Cool!
It comes housed in a gorgeous picture sleeve, and its condition is nearly a miracle. It would be hard, if not impossible, to find such a beautiful example again. As usual in this region, the record spins at 33-rpm.
