Description

Offered is the Original, 1st Edition Pressing (from the Monarch Pressing Plant) of the rare Rhythm & Blues / Doo Wop release from 1956 - Little Sammy: Can You Love Me / Papa Did The Chicken on Shade Records 1002X45.

We did both a playgrade and a visual condition evaluation:

From our playgrade - we heard no audio interference on either side. Side B played without the light crackle that is common among recordings from the 1950's era.
The playgrade is NM- .

Visually, these are present:

1) There is a small ding in the beginning deadwax - a bit larger on Side A and quite tiny on Side B. You can see a close up-photo of this in our Gallery - it is Photo #4 at about 12 O'Clock. It is on the outermost edge, and our player was unaffected by it.

2) On the vinyl of Side A (not Side B), present is a surface imperfection that does not extend into the grooves on Side A,  which is why the sound quality is not affected. 

We have taken a number of photos in our Gallery that have captured this. We have seen a lot of foreign material on records, and can say this is new.

My guess is that it happened in manufacturing - but we honestly cannot say.

We have combined the 2 conditions (playgrade and visual) and give it an overall grade of EX:

THE VINYL - EXCELLENT

EX :  Lightly played, both sides of the vinyl retain all of their original gloss. Present are a few very light marks. 

Bright  Green and Silver Shade Records labels with some scuffs. 

The mono audio playback is strong and clear. 


        


We have placed the Record into a separate, protective plastic sleeve.
