Influential rock musician Lenny Kravitz married Lisa Bonet in 1987, a couple of years before he released his debut album ('Let Love Rule'). Lisa and Lenny, (who went by the name Romeo Blue in those days) had a daughter. You may have heard of her. Her name is Zoë Kravitz. That's right, Lenny Kravitz is the father of red hot actress Zoë Kravitz!
Lenny Kravitz is back in the spotlight, as he just released his new album (titled 'Blue Electric Light') a few days ago. The first single and video came out late last year, called "TK421". And the video will make you blush! (Some of you will even need a cold shower...) The video is nearly R rated, but for nudity, and not for language. Let's just say you'll see at least 95% of a naked Lenny! It's on YouTube, so check it out before they take it down.
In 1993, (which celebrated its THIRTY year anniversary last year), Lenny released his third studio album, titled 'Are You Gonna Go My Way'. By this album, he had a full band in place, featuring the talents of ace guitarist Craig Ross. (Lenny played nearly ALL the instruments on the first release.) This third album gave us the hits "Believe", "Heaven Help", "Is There Any Love in Your Heart", and of course, the awesome title track! Lenny and his record label Virgin released this vintage album on clear vinyl, with a special CD added to the very cool gatefold jacket! It fits neatly in a pocket in the gatefold.
It also comes with a really nice booklet with liner notes, song lyrics, credits, and more colorful pics. The CD is acoustic stuff and unreleased (at that time) tracks that didn't make it onto the album! Check out "Ascension" on the CD. It's one of the best songs that Lenny ever did! The clear vinyl is shiny and clean. Gatefold looking great, with a light fold on one corner. The gatefold has a little shelf-wear on it, mainly on the corners and spine. CD is also shiny and clean, and the carboard case it comes in is in really good condition.
But wait...there's more! I'll make this a double shot of Lenny Kravitz collectible vinyl with a 10" picture disc of the song "Believe", from this album! It's a cool (and psychedelic) pic of Lenny, with the same pic on both sides. The A side has no words written on it, but the B side has song titles and credits. The record itself has a couple of light surface marks on it, on the B side. Not sure of the sound quality of either of these, as I never play specialty vinyl, such as pic discs or colored records. But a sweet pair of vintage Kenny Kravitz vinyl collectibles, nonetheless. Grab 'em before they're gone for good!
