This is a Rare Opportunity, to own a real Original UK 1st press of LED ZEPPELIN'S Physical Graffiti, The Playback is sensational!

The sixth studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, it was released on 8 November 1971 by Atlantic Record. The band wrote and recorded eight new songs for the album in early 1974 at Headley Grange, a country house in Hampshire, which gave them ample time to improvise arrangements and experiment with recording. The total playing time covered just under three sides of an LP, so they decided to expand it into a double album by including seven previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for the band's earlier albums Led Zeppelin III (1970), Led Zeppelin IV (1971) and Houses of the Holy (1973). The album covered a range of styles including hard rock, progressive rock, rock 'n' roll and folk. The album was then mixed over summer 1974 and planned for an end-of-year release; however, its release was delayed because the Peter Corriston designed die-cut album cover proved difficult to manufacture. The original die-cut "windows" cover has "SWAN SONG/484 KINGS ROAD, LONDON SW10" address at the top on back.

The set contains two custom inners with code "SSK 89400/A" for disc 1 and "SSK 89400/B" for disc 2 on bottom right back corner, plus a 2-page folded insert that has songs titles, credits, and text "Sleeve printed and made in England by Gothic Print Finishers Ltd., London SE9 2EQ".

VINYL VISUAL:

NEAR MINT :- condition.  Please look at the photos.

VINYL PLAYBACK:

TOP PLAYBACK :- No jumps, No clicks, No crackle, played only a handful of times.

SLEEVE :

NEAR MINT :- All Led Zeppelin albums are so hard to find now, please have a look at the photo's, UK seventies 1st press, non laminated gimmick sleeve has NO damage to the windows or writing or major damage. There is just a little shelf wear on the bottom edge, seen on photos 5,6.

SPINE:

Fully readable spine just a little ding on the back right hand corner...

INNER SLEEVES:

NEAR MINT :- ... Both Original Inners, have no tear-through, and are in shape. Being the very fragile inner sleeve is a great indicator of the amount of usage the album has had, no creases, not bad considering how fragile these are.....50 odd years old, quite unbelievable intact condition.

LABELS:

Original Swan Song labels, .
There are no WB symbols on the top half of the label ( the later presses had the WB Logo around the labels edge). No Spindle marks!!!, Clean, no Writing, no damage.

GRADING SYSTEM: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradings where applicable.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

PAYMENT:

Items must be paid for within five days. If non payment within five days, I will then instigate an eBay ruling. I will set up a dispute and either offer it to the runner up bidder or re-list.

RETURNS POLICY:

I aim to provide an excellent service and hope that all buyers are satisfied with their purchase. However, if for any reason this should not be so, please contact me. I do accept returns, and on receipt of the item I will give a full refund - however - I will not refund what it costs the buyer to send it back, as otherwise I am just paying for the customer to look at it. I will not issue a refund if detail that is clearly stated on the advertisement has been missed by the buyer, so please read carefully.

PACKAGING:

I use preformed and standard mailers with stiffeners. I always take the vinyl out in its inner sleeve and place on top of the cover. This is then placed into a soft protective sleeve and packaged with stiffeners for full protection.
