Description
This is a rare Purple/ Brown Label version of Led Zeppelin I S/T album.
Not a lot is known about it apart from speculation perhaps a plant ran out of the typical Atlantic red green labels and so they used Atco. Whatever it is, this would be a neat part of any collection. Also worth noting, side 1 is claimed to be a different mix than the original pressing. Also side 2 does sound a little different from the standard issue. There is a long pause between "Black Mountain Side" and "Communication Breakdown", where the standard issue had no silence at all. And there is an unusually long silence between "Communication Breakdown" and "I Can't Quit You Baby", much longer than was on the standard issue.
Vinyl: VG, Visually does have scratches and scuffs. Fortunately, none cause loud pops or skips to occur.
Jacket: EX, Great shape with nice sharp corners, There is no ring wear, no splits and no folds.
Sound: Acceptable, this is a very playable example but does have surface noise. As stated above there are scratches and scuffs that I determined did not cause repeated pops or skips. Keep in mind I tested this on a revealing system through horn speakers after wiping down with a carbon bristle brush and most vinyl causes playback noise on my setup. It's entirely possible on your system that this album as is and or with a wet clean, the sound would only improve. In reality this is a collector item for the Label not the sound, people like to frame them..
