I have seen numerous Led Zeppelin 4 albums in the past and there are quite a few label variants, but I have never yet come across this oddity. I have contacted several collector friends but none knew anything about this one. Let me explain, on the side one label the letters V. A.  are incorporated in the label. These have not been added or stuck on, they are in the print of the label. I have not been able to find out what the letters stand for. Was it possibly some kind of promotional copy? Could it have been an advance copy for a distribution company? I am open for any suggestions and would welcome to hear any of your ideas about it. In the meantime just have a look at some pictures of the label.

                                          Vinyl: VG++ to EX. An absolutely great copy of this album and far better than most I have seen.  I have played this in full on my headphones in order to detect any faults at all. I did not find any!! Gorgeous audio with fantastic stereo separation. This is a top disc with just a few of the finest retraction type hairlines only visible under a strong light having absolutely no impact on the audio at all. Light static can at times be heard between the tracks but in my experience 95% of vinyls from this age do produce some light static on the deadwax. This will suit most collectors but of course not for those who insist on NM or M copies. Needless to say, NO jumps, NO sticks or ticks. This is THE way to listen to "Stairway to Heaven".

            Gatefold sleeve: VG+. An original gatefold sleeve that has hardly any creases. The edges are nie and straight. There is some tape on the bottom of the rear gatefold. A small area top right where there is a colourfill for a price sticker tear. This has been done professionally and is not apparent at first glance. The spine is nice. Otherwise an above average sleeve that is still very presentable.

This also has the original rough textured inner lyrics sleeve with the two flipbacks. The quality of the paper used for this compares to the good old blotting paper which most probably won't remember. This type of paper is particularly bad for wear and most will have extensive wear and side splits. There is also a small tear on the opening. Not the best ever inner but at least it is there in the first place and not replaced with a re-issue copy. I will send the vinyl in a separate white inner to prevent further wear in transit.
