Description
LARRY LUREX (FREDDIE MERCURY) - I CAN HEAR MUSIC b/w GOIN' BACK. CAT No: EMI 2030. FACTORY SAMPLE.
The record is only listed as 'used' as it has been played only once to check for any defects. There are no visible marks on either side although I detected a few 'pops' on Goin' Back which are either in the pressing or possible static on my turntable. They do not detract though from this wonderful version which is so clearly sung by Freddie. The sleeve is in excellent condition with only slight creasing and a small 8mm tear on the reverse centre circle. The label features a 'FACTORY SAMPLE - NOT FOR SALE' sticker. These songs were recorded during summer 1973, (release date was 29th June) by Freddie, Roger and Brian to kill time when they were waiting for any available studio to work on their debut album. Robin Cable, a Trident producer was working on the Beach Boy's song 'I can Hear Music' and thought Freddie's voice was perfect for it. Goin' Back is the old Goffin & King song, a big hit in the UK for Dusty Springfield.
